MEDUSA Medusa means "sovereign female wisdom," in Sanskrit it is Medha, in Greek it's Metis, and in Egyptian Met or Maat. Originally an aspect of the Libyan serpent goddess Athene, she was worshipped by the Libyan Amazons. To look into Atehen's face was to glimpse ones own death as she saw your future. In no tome anywhere will you find the name Medusa linked to the word bitch. But by the time the Greeks were finished with her, Medusa would ever be one of the most deadly bitches of the Ancients. A mere glance would turn any living creature to stone. So much for dating, honestly how many naked Greek sculptures can one garden take without being tacky? When you look back through the myths, you'll discover that this much-maligned bitch was not born into the art of sculpting from life. Another much stronger bitch made this bitch. There are two versions on the why and there is also debate on whether Medusa's looks had anything to do with her deadly nature, but the constant is she was damned into bitchdom by Athena, virgin bitch goddess. Medusa was said to be a beautiful woman, known for her lovely locks. One version says that she dared to compare her beauty to Athena's and thus incurred Athena's wrath. But the more prevalent version has our maligned Gorgon being defiled in Athena's temple by Poseidon. Athena was rightfully ticked at the lack of respect for her house of worship, but she took it out on the wrong person. Poseidon gets away with his raping of an innocent girl, while Medusa's hair was changed into snakes and her looks actually started killing. This is a prime example of how Malicious Bitches are made, not born. This girl was raped and then stripped of her beauty, not to mention any chance at any kind of real relationship. So like all good evil bitches she rampaged and threw a countrywide tizzy, until she was murdered in her sleep by one of Athena's lackeys.
