The concept for this page comes from a page straight out of my life. Some good friends of mine and I sit around on Saturday nights riding the retro, meaning, listening to old music that we've forgotten about over the years, or simply just can't get enough of. We sit back and remember, through the music in the air, what we were doing, wearing, who we were dating, or not dating, the movies, the lingo and anything else that the songs conjure up. We laugh. We cry. We relive it all.

As I began to bring Beatz back to life, I asked myself what could I add to this column. It didn't come to me until our next riding the retro get-together. That is when I realized I couldn't be the only person in the world who loves to remember tunes and times of days gone by! Thus, the birth of Riding The Retro as you will come to love it!

Riding The Retro will have a few features for your enjoyment, and honestly, mine as well! One of which will be a weekly poll. You will be asked to choose, in your opinion, the best of the best pertaining to a particular subject in the world of retro music. At the end of each month, I will write a feature article highlighting the highest rated choice, in depth. At that time, you will be faced with a new poll. This will go on until I run out of material. In other words, plan on Riding The Retro for a very long time!

Another feature of Riding The Retro will be a presentation of the fashions, lingo, hairstyles, chart toppers, and whatever else fun I might be able to scrounge up! These will all reflect the feature article written in honor of the highest rated choice from that months poll questions.
